What is a passion play?

The story of Jesus' crucifixion is sometimes known as the Passion. A passion play is when this story is acted out from the Last Supper to the crucifixion. This is not a common event but a very famous passion play is acted out in Oberammergau, in Germany, once every ten years and many thousands of people from all over the world travel to see it.
