What other traditions are connected with Easter?Easter cards are sent by some people to their loved ones to share their hope and happiness with them. They often have pictures of the Easter story or of rabbits, lambs, chicks, and eggs. Easter fairs were often held on Easter Monday, which was a holiday for many people, and could include all sorts of activities and games. Egg rolling competitions and Easter bonnet parades were popular. Few traditional Easter fairs continue today, although some schools and communities will hold Easter events that may include some of the old traditions. Easter bonnets are often made and prizes given for the prettiest or most unusual hat. These will be decorated with flowers and ribbons. |

| Easter gardens are sometimes made by children to show the empty tomb. These can be made by using pebbles or rocks to build a miniature tomb, a stone to make the rock that was rolled away from the entrance, small pieces of cloth to represent the grave clothes and lots of small spring flowers to make a garden around the tomb. |
