What do Christians believe is special about Easter Day?

Christians believe that when Jesus rose from death he defeated death and sin. Death and sin no longer have power over Christian believers because God has dealt with them. Death is no longer the end but a new beginning of life in God's company. Easter is a festival of happiness and hope. It celebrates new life.

Christians believe that Jesus is still alive today but not in a human body. He has ascended into Heaven. You can read about this in The Bible, Mark chapter 16 verse 19, Luke chapter 24 verses 50 - 51 and in Acts chapter 1 verses 6 - 11.
