A Christmas Miracle?

While the couple slept upstairs, thieves broke in and stole their grandchildren's Christmas presents.

Local Salvation Army Corps members were upset when they heard about it. They wondered if they could do anything to help. Each year, the Salvation Army organise a Christmas toy appeal at their supermarket, collecting toys to give to poor children in the area. Most of the toys had already been given away, but a few were left.

It was late Christmas Eve when the Salvation Army Captain called with the toys. "It's not much," she thought, "but at least it shows someone cares."

The grandmother burst into tears. She had been able to replace most of the toys, but one child wanted a particular wooden train set. Everywhere had sold out ... and now, here was the Salvation Army lady giving her the very toy!

Thanks to the kindness of many people, the Salvation Army has been able to give toys to lots of children who might otherwise have little or nothing to unwrap on Christmas morning.
