Script of Jean's Video 'Hello there. My name is the Reverend Jean Spragg. I'm a United Reformed Church Minister. I have three churches, which is Wombourne, St. Andrews and Swindon. I wasn't born a Minister. I believe God called me and used all the things in my life to bring me to the now. I left school without any qualifications. But then it's as if the Lord guided me through many different paths to get to where I am now. I worked in a leather factory when I left school, and from there I became a home help, a dinner lady, a dinner supervisor. I also became a nursery nurse, and later in life I became a mature student. Every part of that journey I do believe God has used, and I was meant to go on that journey to make me the person that I am now. Because I believe that when God calls us he also equips us. He uses every part of our lives and our experience to make us the people he would have us be, and I do believe that he's done that in my life. To belonging, I feel that I do belong to a wider family than my home family. I belong to a family of God, and in that I have brothers and sisters all around the world, who believe in one Lord and one faith through one baptism. He calls all of us, in different ways, in different roles through life. But he always, always equips us. He never calls us to do anything and then leaves us on our own. He actually calls us, and equips us, and shows us what we have to do. He is an amazing God. He is a surprising God. And if he can do this with me, believe me, he can do it with you as well!' |
