The work of our community varies from house to house. Where our brothers and sisters live in cities we are involved in such activities as visiting prisons and hospitals, and in working with young people or with those who are homeless. Other houses are dedicated more to the work of hospitality, looking after those who come to stay with us seeking a time of quiet refreshment and spiritual renewal. In such places we value the gift of silence as an opportunity to become more aware of the presence of God and the beauty of the world around us. |

The three notes which must ever in special degree mark the lives of the brothers and sisters are humility, love and joy. If these prevail within its members, the object of the community will be fulfilled and its work fruitful. (From the Principles of the Society of Saint Francis) |

Although we live busy lives, the most important thing for us is the inner transformation that happens when we begin to let God into our hearts. As we listen to the Word of God day by day, and as we allow ourselves to become more sensitive to the presence of God within us and within each other, we hope that the values of humility, love and joy may make us more fully alive with God's life. |
