This carving shows Jesus sad at the grave of his friend Lazarus, before he brought him back to life. You can read the story in The Bible, John chapter 11 verses 38 - 44. The artist wanted us to feel how much Jesus cared, and to remember that Jesus cares for each one of us just as much. This carving is a thousand years old. |
