I Go to a United Reformed Church

Some URC's have a more formal type of service where they have a set pattern of hymns, prayers, Bible readings and sermon and will usually have the music played on an organ.

During the week, we have other meetings including Bible studies for teenagers, and other ones for adults. There are also youth clubs for children of all ages. In the youth clubs there is a chance to play games, make things, and hear about Jesus. We also have prayer meetings. Sometimes we go to the pub and have a skittles tournament.
Although a URC is part of a union with it's offices in London, each church can choose how it runs things, including appointing it's Minister. It does sometimes have to get permission to make big changes to it's building. A URC may be in a group where several churches share one Minister. The church members elect Elders who look after the day to day running of the church. Anyone who is a Church Member may be an Elder.
