York Minster is dedicated to St. Peter, one of Jesus' disciples. This medieval stained glass window shows St. Peter holding the keys of heaven, and a model church. The church is a symbolf of the worldwide Christian church, and reminds us of the words of Jesus, "You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church ." (The Bible, Matthew chapter 16 verse 18 ). |
