The Chapter House is the meeting room for the Dean and Chapter - the committee which manages Minster business. The members of the Chapter are called Canons, and each one has a named seat. This room is famous for the beautiful carving around the walls, and also because there is no central pillar holding up the roof.
There is a model of the complex wooden beams which - although you cannot see them - hold up the roof. You can see this in the panorama.
