The Chapel of St. Patrick and the Saints of Ireland

Chapel of St. Patrick

Saint Patrick (387-461) is the patron saint of Ireland, because he took the Christian faith there. The chapel is decorated with green Irish marble.

The patterns include snakes, which legends says were driven from Ireland by St. Patrick, and the shamrock (three-leaved clover) which he used to teach about the Trinity. A statue of St. Patrick stands behind the altar.
