The Blessed Sacrament Chapel
The 'Blessed Sacrament' is the bread blessed in the mass. It is kept in the Tabernacle, which stands in the centre of the altar. The Blessed Sacrament is set aside to take to those who are too ill to come to church, and the fact that it is here makes this a special place for prayer.
The Tabernacle

Jesus spoke about the bread used in communion. He said, 'This is my body.' (The Bible, Luke chapter 22 verse 19) Catholics believe this in a very literal sense, and they believe that Jesus is present in this Chapel in a very special way. Visitors come here for private prayer at all times of the day, and they light votive candles as a symbol of their prayers.

The three oil lamps that hang from the ceiling are lit as a sign that the Blessed Sacrament is here.
