When the monks lived here this was a busy place. The windows were full of glass, cosy fires burned in braziers and warm rushes covered the floor.

Novices (new monks) were taught in the West Cloister. The North Cloister was a place for study, filled with bookcases and tables by the windows. The South cloister led to the Refrectory where the monks ate, and the East Cloister leads to the Chapter House.
