When monks lived at Westminster Abbey, they began their working day here by reading a chapter from the Rule of St. Benedict. The monastery was closed by King Henry the Eighth in 1540.

Parliament met here in the 14 th Century before moving over the road to the Palace of Westminster - today's Houses of Parliament.

Around the walls are 13th century paintings from the book of Revelation, the last book of the Bible.

This is a picture of the vision that St John had of Jesus.
