Entering the Church |
When worshippers come into the church, they first light a candle on the right side of the church, and kiss the icon of Jesus beside it. Then they light a candle on the left side of the church, and kiss the nearby icon of Mary the Mother of Jesus. The lighted candle is a symbol of their prayers. Worshippers may light one for each of the people for whom they are praying. |
