The Communion Table

the communion table

The communion table stands in the middle at the front of the church, to show how important it is. It is long, so that the Deacons and Elders can sit behind it during communion, and help give out the bread and wine, which is passed along the rows of people as they sit in their seats. Little individual glasses are used for the communion wine, so that each person can drink from their own glass.

At the Metropolitan Tabernacle communion is included in the service twice a month.
