The choir is used for choral evensong on weekdays throughout the year. On Sunday there is a larger congregation, so more room is needed.

Also in the choir is the 'Cathedra' - the bishops chair, from which we get the world 'cathedral'.

The Bishop looks after the religious life of the churches and people in the parishes of his diocese.
