More on the Pentecostal Church |
|
The Elim Alliance is part of the church that is often referred to as Pentecostal. Pentecostals believe that the three parts of God are equally important, and yet one whole person. Pentecostals believe more strongly than some other church groups, that a person can experience the Holy Spirit in a personal way, and not only through a church leader or the Bible. Although this belief was held by others beforehand, in Britain two main groups of Pentecostal churches became established in the 1920's. One is called the "Elim Alliance", and the other is the "Assemblies of God." Each Elim church is run by a Pastor, but there is also a regional Superintendent available for advice and assistance. The church also has Elders to offer personal support and advice, Deacons who hold practical jobs like secretary and treasurer, and Youth Group Leaders. |
