I Go To A Congregational Church |

Twice a month we have communion. This is a special part of a service, where we remember that Jesus died on the cross to save us. Any Christian in the service can take part and eat the bread and drink the wine that is passed round. We do this because Jesus tells us to in the Bible. |

Lots of things happen during the week, not just on Sundays. We have a mother and toddlers group, a prayer meeting, meetings for the ladies and, on Fridays, two youth clubs. In the youth clubs there is a chance to play games and make things, and hear about Jesus. A Congregational Church is an independent church. This means that it organises and runs things itself. The congregation (members of the church) make all the decisions, from who will be the Minister to what colour the walls should be painted. Not all the congregation decide everything; Deacons are elected to make some of the decisions themselves. A Deacon can be a man or a woman who looks after the way the church is run. |
