I Go To A Catholic Church

Catholics have seven sacraments:

  • Baptism
  • Penance / Confession
  • Eucharist / Communion
  • Confirmation
  • Matrimony (marriage)
  • Holy Orders (ordination)
  • Sacarament of the Sick

I made my First Holy Communion when I was 7. Any baptised Catholic can take their First Holy Communion. I also made my First Confession at this age. I went to talk to the Priest and told him what I had done wrong. He called down God's forgiveness on me. Most Catholics get baptised when they are babies; grown-ups promise things on behalf of the baby. Confirmation can happen when you are a teenager - it's up to people to choose if they want it. When you are confirmed you become a full member of the church - you decide, not adults speaking for you.
