This is the inside of St. Patrick's Catholic church in Strathaven, Scotland. |

This is the entrance to the church. On the right you can see the holy water font. It contains water which is blessed by the priest and is used to remind Catholics of their baptism. When they enter the church they dip their fingers in the holy water and then make the sign of the cross. They do this to remind themselves of their baptism and that they are entering the presence of God in the church. When they leave, they do the same but this time to remind themselves that they are being sent out into the world by Jesus to bring his love to others. |
