The Four Friends: Teaching About Faith and Friendship

The story is written to show a number of important Christian beliefs:
  • Faith in Jesus. The four friends were so sure Jesus would be able to help they risked embarrassment for the sake of the paralysed man.
  • The authority of Jesus. Christians believe Jesus could forgive sins (wrongdoings) because he is "God's only Son" (The Bible, John chapter 3 verse 16).
  • The power of Jesus to heal.
  • People's response to Jesus. People reacted with wonder, awe and praise to God.
