How Do Christians Use The Bible? |

"All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach what is true and make us realise what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right".
|
| This Bible is much loved! It is battered and well-worn from constant use. Favourite passages have been marked, and notes written in the margins. Christians believe that it is the message of the Bible that is holy - not the physical book itself. | |
Many Christians will spend time each day in a quiet place, praying, reading the Bible and thinking about what it says. Jesus said "When you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father secretly". (The Bible, Matthew chapter 6 verse 6) Christian parents often read Bible stories to their children at bedtime and pray with them. Many of these stories become great favourites - Jonah and the Whale, Noah's Ark, the Lost Sheep, the Good Samaritan, etc. |
