Does it matter what you believe? |
Jesus and the first Christians treated people having other religious beliefs with respect. They befriended them and engaged them in religious dialogue. (eg. The Bible, Luke chapter 7 verses 1-10;John chapter 4 verse 9;Acts chapter 10). Jesus taught that it mattered very much what a person chooses to believe. He said, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father (God) except through me.' (The Bible, John chapter 14 verse 6). The disciple Peter was talking about faith in Jesus when he said, ' There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.' (The Bible, Acts chapter 4 verse 12) |
