Because God is personal, he has a particular character. He likes some things, and dislikes (or hates) others. In particular, God likes truth, love, justice, kindness and goodness, and hates dishonesty, injustice, unkindness and every sort of evil.

God is personal, and he has made us as people too, to be like him, on a small scale. Part of being people is that we can communicate with each other. Because we're people, made to be like God, he has communicated with us – he has spoken, in ways that make sense to us, and that we can understand. Because of this, we can know what God is really like (and what he wants us to be like). We aren't just left to guess, or to make up our own ideas about what God is like.God has told us everything we need to know. He hasn’t told us everything there is to know, or even everything that we might like to know.

God is the most amazing being there is - infinitely good, infinitely wise, infinitely powerful. He is great, and glorious. He is the only being there is who fully deserves our praise and worship - not because God needs us, or is on some kind of ego trip, but because of who he is.
