What Christians believe about ... Life After Death

The motto for the Christian Aid organisation is 'Life before death'. There could be many mottos for the Christian faith and they would include the fact that Christians believe in life after death.

The foundation of this is the belief that Jesus himself did not stay dead, but was raised to life after three days in the tomb. "He isn't here! He has been raised from the dead, just as he said would happen."
(The Bible, Matthew chapter 28 verse 6)

Before he died, Jesus claimed of himself, "I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die like everyone else, will live again." (The Bible, John chapter 11 verse 25)
