When it comes to homelessness often women are among the 'hidden homeless', that is they are more likely to look for their own solutions by approaching family and friends for help. Hostels, family centres, women's refuges and mother and baby homes are among the provision The Salvation Army have for women.

While little children go hungry

As a boy William Booth saw children in Nottingham so hungry they were crying for bread. Children today are catered for around the world at one of The Salvation Army's 190 children's homes.
