The Nicene Creed

There are three words in the version of the Nicene Creed that the Catholic Church added later, that the Orthodox Church does not accept. These words are about the Holy Spirit and they are 'and the Son' . These words come at the beginning of the third part of the Nicene Creed. The original words that Orthodox Christians accept reads ' We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father.' The Catholics changed it to 'We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son'.

The Nicene Creed is more detailed than the Apostles Creed, especially about the three persons of the Trinity.
