The New Testament was written by the early Christians. Some of the books were written with 20 years of the events. Some of the accounts seem to have been passed on by word of mouth for longer before being written down. The New Testament contains four accounts of Jesus' life, death and resurrection (the four gospels), many letters written by the early Christian leaders to the new Churches, to tell them how they should behave and what they should believe. There is also a history of the earliest church and a book of prophecy about the end of times. |
