Facing the Issue : Prejudice and Discrimination |

Solomon's Story |
| I am Solomon Nathaniel and I originally come from India. In my 18 years of stay in England, I have faced a few prejudices. But by God's grace I have been able to forgive those who have hurt me by their comments and attitudes.
I want to share about one incident which happened today while I was walking in Poole Park (Dorset), listening to a Christian tape on my walkman. A car with a young man and a young woman passed by me; as it came near me, the young man lowered his side window and shouted at me using very vulgar and abusive words. After hearing him, first I felt angry but then I looked at the young man and said, "Thank you! God bless you!" There were few other folks walking their dogs in the Park who heard the young man and were very angry and got the number plate of the car and asked me to report him to police. But I told them that I am a follower of Jesus and I don't want to retaliate in return. |
