Conclusion

All Christians believe that God has compassion on childless couples. All Christians would point to examples in the Bible when God made a couple conceive who had been infertile. Christians are not against the concept of helping childless couples have children. However, just because science has made it possible to intervene, Christians do not believe automatically that it is the right thing to do.

Most Christians are against using donor eggs or sperm (except the Anglicans) as this somehow breaks the marriage union.

Nearly all Christians however believe that Artificial Insemination by Husband or IVF with no donors are good methods of trying to enable a couple to conceive.

Some Christians (evangelicals and Roman Catholics) believe that life begins at conception and therefore creating spare embryos which are later destroyed can never be acceptable.
