The Sower: Jesus Teaches About Listening to God's Words
Jesus told a story about listening.
A farmer sowed his seeds.
Some seeds fell on the path. Birds ate them up.
Some seeds fell on rocks. The plants died in the hot sun.
Some seeds fell in the weeds. The plants were killed by the big weeds.
Some seeds fell on good soil. They grew well and gave a big harvest.
Jesus' friends asked,"What does this mean?"
Jesus said, "The seeds are like telling people about me."
"The seeds on the path are like when people don't listen."
"The seeds on the rock are like when people do what I say, but give up when it is hard."
"The seeds in the weeds are like people who let other things get more important than doing what I say."
"The seeds in the good soil are like people who listen to my words, and do what I say."
You can find this story in the Bible. Read it for yourself in Matthew chapter 13 verses 1 - 23.
