The Lost Son: Jesus Teaches About Forgiveness

Some people were angry. "Why is Jesus kind to bad people? Is he bad too?"

Jesus told a story.

A younger son asked his dad for lots of money.

He went away. He wasted the money on bad things. Soon the money was all gone. He was hungry.

He looked after pigs. The farmer did not pay him.

The son was sorry. He went home. He saw his dad.

His dad forgave him. They had a party!

His big brother was angry. "He wasted our money!" he said.

"Don't be angry," dad said. "Your brother has come home!"

God is like the dad. When we do wrong things he wants us to stop and be sorry. Then God can forgive us too.

You can find this story in the The Bible, Luke chapter 15 verses 11 - 32.
