The Easter Story: Jesus in the Temple

The big temple was full of people. They had come to celebrate the Passover. The temple courtyard was full of noisy people buying and selling.

Jesus pushed over their tables and shouted:"The Bible says, 'God's temple will be a place of prayer for everyone.' You have turned it into a den of thieves!"

A big crowd came to listen to Jesus. He made their sick people well. Little children shouted "Praise God for the Son of David."

The temple leaders were angry. They wanted to kill Jesus.

Judas was one of Jesus friends. He came to them and said, "What will you give me if I help you?"

They gave him thirty silver coins.
